NEW YORK CUBANS
In 1947 the New York Cubans took down the Cleveland Buckeyes for the Negro World Series Championship. Their pitching staff was lead by junk-baller Luis Tiant, Sr. On the offensive side they were led by future American League all-star Minnie Minoso. Perhaps their greatest all-time performer was Martin Dihigo, versatile at just about every position outside of catcher, Dihigo was elected to the Cuban, Mexican, and American Hall of Fames, the only player to accomplish this feat.
